You should not choose a carrier when you purchase the phone, so it will be unlocked. Then, you will have to work with Cricket to get the phone setup.

Since the iPhone 15 is eSIM only, you would want to make sure that Cricket supports eSIM.....before....you buy. It appears that they do, but it would be wise to double check.

I could be wrong, but if you choose to finance iPhone through Apple, you have to choose a carrier and Cricket is not an option when financing the phone. The ONLY sure way to purchase an iPhone fully unlocked from Apple directly is to pay in full at the time of purchase, which lets you choose a carrier after purchase.
