I am in the process of buying a new 2023 MacBook. I have 2 options, MacBook Air 15" or MacBook Pro 14".
I have the following question: What is the difference between Thunderbolt 4 ports and Thunderbolt 4 "C" ports?
MacBook Air (M2, 2023)
They are the same. The differences are in the number of ports on each.
The MacBook Air has two Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 ports, plus a MagSafe 3 charging port, and headphone jack.
The MacBook Pro (M3 Pro or M3 Max) has three Thunderbolt ports, plus HDMI port, SXDC card port, and headphone jack. (The base model MacBook Pro is limited to 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports.)
There are other differences, of course. The MBA supports one external monitor, but the MBP Pro or Max supports multiple external monitors. There are differences in the screen resolution and brightness, with the edge going to the MBP. (I honestly don't recommend the base model MBP, though...only the M3 Pro and M3 Pro Max models are an upgrade over the MBA).
