iPhone 11 Pro dropped in water

Hi, my student dropped iPhone 11 Pro in a tub of water. I immediately got it and removed the casing but I was surprised that it kept rebooting. I already placed it in rice for an hour now and it just kept flashing the apple icon on loop. It won't start, too. Help, please! I know that iPhone 11pro is water resistant. What will I do? :(

I’d let the iPhone dry for a day or so, and in a dry environment, such as in an air-conditioned area with a steady breeze, before trying to connect it to power.

Rice can mean filling a device with rice dust, which may well then turn into hardened and moldy and potentially corrosive sludge. Related info highlighted in red:

This iPhone may well be headed for replacement.
