Not being able to get codes

You need to have an SMS/MMS plan enabled by your carrier for the SIM/eSIM that you use on your device. Apple Inc does not provide SMS/MMS services.

I had the same problem recently. In my situation, I know it’s a malware/spyware/hacking problem of my home network and devices (even when using cellular) but I have learned that there is typically a way around the problem, but it often takes 1-2 hours for me to figure out the solution. My suggestions and steps I took: 1) first delete your safari cookies and close all pages (settings-Safari-scroll down). (2) If you use another browser do the same for that browser. (3) if u don’t need a browser for what u r trying to accomplish, either temporarily delete the browser or at least turn off cellular data for the browser (4) Turn off WiFi and also select the edit section and delete your known networks so u don’t automatically connect to a network. (5) turn off bluetooth (5b) delete anything stored on ur device u don’t need or don’t recognize (settings-general iPhone storage) (6) turn on a device wide VPN. Avast One has a free version. (7)Reboot your device. (8)Make sure the above changes are showing. To make sure the device wide VPN feature is on, check settings-general-vpn and device management and make sure the vpn is turned on in two sections. (A vpn symbol on the top left of your device could just represent one of the two features of a vpn.) (9) if it’s still not working and (a) u need a browser, switch browsers and try again (b) if it’s still not working leave the premises and drive to another location and try again. Yes-this sounds crazy but this worked for me. I could not get my codes for my credit card app. A couple of weeks ago at 8:00PM I drove maybe 5 -10 minutes away to get away from my home network area and any neighboring networks and successfully got my code and logged into my app on the 1st try.

What worked for me before did not work today; however, I tried something a person on this forum recommended and it worked just now: turn off notifications for your phone app.
