mac operating system folder setting question

If one folder which one account can not access it, how can I add permission for the account? Thanks.

Permissions mismatch My mac administration is a mess. i have popups of keychain requests from apps i dont use, i cant modify permissions on some folders even though im the admin. i can open the lock sign but sometimes cannot add my user to the permission list. i don't have some important applications there so im thinking about resetting everything and start fresh, but i want to keep my home folder and im afraid to lose this data. i dont want to start a journey of backups. any suggestions?

I do not have permission to view my folders. I recently renamed my iMac HD because I get confused by DropBox showing Mac and Mac 2 in the folders. That's the most recent thing I did, and now I cannot open any of my folders on my iMac because I do not have permission to it. I followed the suggestion to Get Info and then unlock the folder. The unlock button can be toggled, but the folder locks again right after. I do not see the Sharing Permission button on my Get Info pop-up, as suggested in other videos. Please help, I cannot access any of my folders. At this point, my iMac is functioning just like a big iPhone.

Drag that folder to the desktop; you'll be asked for an administrator password. If it's not one used by the OS, you can instead select it in the Finder, choose Get Info from the File menu, and give yourself access.
