Why can't I stop Apple Wallet opening when trying to use a barcode in a travel app

In Amsterdam and downloaded the GVB transport App. You scan the daily ticket barcode to get in and out. You open the app bring up the barcode and show it to the scanner and the wallet opens (I assume the scanner is NFC. There’s seems to be no way in 2024 bar deleting the App to disable the wallet. Why why why!

Its popped up here with no clear answers. I’ve tried turning on guided access, flicking other switches off , nothing works.

If something does could someone kindly give a smoke instruction. They should be a simple off button (but Apple doesn’t do simple any more - overcomplicated poorly thought out set ups).

No. No transit cards.

This is an App with a barcode (like an airline app). Keeps opening the wallet when you try to scan it on their machine. Very frustrating as there would appear to be a simple solution not implemented by Apple - temporarily switch off Wallet . Android seems to have this. Thanks for looking at my question. I appreciate your help.
