Apple watch ultra 1 was charged and working fine. I looked down and the screen had gone black. I have tried charging, holding down each button for 1-minute, as well as a combination of multiple buttons for a minute with no response.

Does the Apple Watch charge, if you connect to the charger?
If yes, let it charge for about 20min, then try to force restart the Watch, if it did not start up by itself after 20min.
To force restart, hold down the side button and the Digital Crown at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
In case this does not work, the Apple Watch has to be serviced by Apple:
