Blurry custom wallpapers - Sonoma

Recently, I started using Sonoma on a new device (MacBook Pro) and noticed quite a strange wallpaper behavior:

1) (I have some high res wallpaper stored in some folder)

2) from Finder I use “Set a Desktop wallpaper” button to set the wallpaper.

3) It loads normally and the crystal wallpaper is shown, i.e., everything is in high res.

4) But as soon as I reboot or change to another wallpaper and back, this wallpaper is no longer crisp and sharp, but very blurred as having bad resolution.

i even updated macOS to Sonoma 14.3, but the bug still persists.

Is there any workaround? My old Mac displays it normally and sharply.
