Gmail account on Mac

Earlier today I had to change my gmail password. When I did I had to re-authenticate my account and enter my new password to get everything to load properly. This was fine on my phone. When I got home and tried to do it on my Mac, it now gives me an error:

I cannot get my account back on my computer. Everything is up to date on software and Safari is my default browser and it doesn't work no matter how many times I try.
