What to do when a refund request is denied on the App Store?

Hi! I hope you can help me with this situation. I requested a refund few days ago and now it say’s its not eligible to refund. So i submit a “review a decision” but still got denied.

So here’s the situation, my little cousin bought the 3 game apps and automatically deducted on my account. When I request a refund I picked the “a child/minor” option but still got denied. I don’t know what to do. Please I really do need a refund because that money is very important to me.

The people responding on this support forum are users like you and we only know what Apple says in its documentation and what our own and other users' experience tells us. Apple does not have much on its criteria for refusing refunds. Here are two sections from Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions - Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple

- "All Transactions are final."

I understand this as meaning Apple is starting from a point where any refund is considered an exception. They can simply say no without having to provide a reason. I understand this can be frustrating but by using the service you agree to the terms.

- "From time to time, Apple may suspend or cancel payment or refuse a refund request if we find evidence of fraud, abuse, or unlawful or other manipulative behavior that entitles Apple to a corresponding counterclaim." Make of this what you will. Think of reasons why somebody may consider your request to be fraud or abuse. Remember, Apple cannot reach out and remove something you have downloaded. They have to trust that your request is sincere and honest, but there may be limits.

You can see if the terms are different for where you live by clicking on this link Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple select your location and then your language.

If you feel you want to discuss a refund request, try to contact a live person using a telephone or chat request.

Cancelling a subscription is done by using the steps provided here. They are not automatically cancelled by deleting the app or not using the service.

If it was a free trial, then you must use that link to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial period ends, otherwise it will become a subscription. All transactions in the App Store are final, but in some cases Apple may provide a compassionate refund on a case by case basis. It should never be expected though.

So I upgraded on an App from quarterly to Yearly. The payment went through, and I open the App, but the Ai credits I was promised were not there. Had to troubleshoot with the App (Filmora) for hours, until I figured, I might get a refund and try again.

I thought it was a simple open and shut - but for the first time in years, suddenly Apple wouldn't refund and rejected my claim. I put in another request, stating that I was fine using the App, but it wasn't working as expected due to the Ai discrepancy. That didn't work either and I got the silly "Decision is final"

Now I have an App that doesn't work, Filmora says they have no record of my order, the order is present on my paid subscription, and Apple can see it - but for the life of me, have decided that it's not eligible for a refund.

I would even happily continue with the App if I could get my credits as promised.

I tried refunding multiple purchases but all my refund requests were Denied when I need the money back, i used it on a game but realised it wasn’t worthy and now i can’t refund anything because it is all denied

That is correct. The only try before you buy option is when a developer chooses to offer a Free Trial. If the developer does not offer a Free Trial, you do not get to make your own by trying it out first and then requesting a refund. If you have a poor experience with an app, feel free to write a review for it in the App Store to let other users aware. You apparently found it worthy after your first purchase, otherwise it would not make any sense to continue and have multiple purchases.
