apple security threat notification

I followed a link and immediately got an “apple security threat” audio and visual notification that was on a continuous loop. How do I eliminate this mess?

"Apple- Security Warning" from "Apple System Security Center" with creepy computer voice was doing a routine search on chrome, and this popped up (i have pop up blocker on) assumed spam, so didn't listen to the computertized voice that warned me not to close or log out... did so anyway. Virus entrapment Received a pop-up message purporting to be an official instruction from Apple, but it was not, that encouraged me to download an app to cleanup a purported virus, displaying a countdown. Happened when I clicked on an Instagram link that then took me to Fortunately, I ignored & continued. It is the 2nd such attempt. Considering deleting Threads.

Leave that website. It's obviously corrupted. The notification is a scam.
