Cult of Mac says no. See their article here.

"Cult of Mac installed watchOS 10.3 on an Apple Watch Series 6 and an Apple Watch Series 7, and the Blood Oxygen application continues to function on both."

10.3 update was reported safe for the O2 sensor, yes.

I have a model A2475 (Model 7 I think?) I bought at the start of the 2020 debacle specifically for the O2 diagnostic capability.

I hesitate running any further updates (10.3.1 has been out for a couple of days) owing to the chance Apple will choose to disable a valuable feature of the pricey watch I wear daily.

Has anyone heard anything about whether the O2 sensor app still works after upgrading a Series 9 watch purchased last fall before the ban took place? I, too, am reluctant to upgrade if I'm going to lose the app.

Hi Nancy, you might want to do some further research on this, including reading this conversation in the Community where a senior member concludes that: ONLY U.S. Series 9 and Ultra II Apple Watches, purchased after 19-Jan-2024 have the O2 sensor disabled.
