moving a mac mini to another room without loosing power

Mac Mini is a desktop computer. It relies on mains power. It does not have a battery. When you pull out the plug or turn off the power point it will lose power.

You will have to shut it down, reposition it in your other room, then restart it.

If you are going to connect it to a power bank, you will need to shut down.

If you want to use the UPS solution as previously mentioned, you will need to shut down to connect to it.

Bottomline, any solution to "keep powered while moving" will require you to shut it down, so just shut it down and move it. If this is accessed by multiple users warn them of the date, time and duration of the move.

The only way you could do so is if you have (or can borrow) a UPS battery which could follow you while unpowerd, up to 10-15 minutes depending on its capacity.

You ma need another pair of hands, but feasible.

If you take it out of the power supply to connect it to a UPS/powerbank it will still turn off.

Low-tech solution: Schedule the move of the Mac mini for a weekend, or middle of a night, when there are few users who would be affected by downtime.
