Hello, Irwan,

To store your photos in iCloud, you may want to enable iCloud Photo Library on your Mac. See: Use iCloud Photo Library to store photos in Photos on Mac - Apple Support (IN)

The Photos will store all your photos and videos in iCloud. But you will still have a local mirror copy of your Photos Library on your Mac. You can make this local copy somewhat smaller by enabling "Optimize Storage" in the Photos > Preferences > iCloud. Photos will automatically remove some high resolution originals and keep them only include, when you need to free storage.

Your local copy of the library cannot be stored in iCloud or on a server in your local network. That will damage it could cause data loss. But you can safely move the library to an external drive, that is mounted locally and directly plugged into your Mac.
