Scatter Plot Chart Help

I'm trying to create a Scatter Plot chart showing changing technical specifications from various competitors, over time. So the X-Axis needs to be marked by date, and the Y axis by spec. Charting in Illustrator apparently cannot do this, so I created one (painstakingly) manually, to show how this data should display.

I have to make 40 to 50 of these kind of Scatter Plot charts, and I simply cannot "draw" each one manually.

How does one make a time-based Scatter Plot chart, with the X-Axis as a timeline?
