What type of service is available for a MacBook Pro's battery? What options, other than purchasing a new battery, are available to 'service' the battery?
In this case, the battery service would be a replacement due to recharge cycle lifespan and/or charge capacity depletion. There's no other real service "options" for our laptop batteries.

Replacing the battery is what I expected and due to the expected cost of a replacement battery, feared.

Of course there is one option to battery replacement. Run the laptop always on wall power. As long as the battery doesn't expand and cause other problems that should be okay.
