Downloading usable Avery templates

I completely agree with FoxFifth on doing this online with Avery Design & Print. Far simpler than wrestling with Pages. But, if you need to become a believer, you can download blank Avery templates in Pages document format (among others, including PDF) if in the U.S.

Visit Avery's blank template selection page and choose your specific template. On that template page, you will see a link to WePrint. Click that, and if any downloadable template files are available, they will be there. This used to be U.S. only, but may have expanded to other locales.

Let's say that I select Shipping and Address Labels and choose 5160, then click WePrint. Here are the choices in downloadable file formats:

I can't help with the templates -- I use Avery Design & Print online. It is free and for me it works better than using Pages or Word.
