HDMI extender over cat6

We run a projector using an hdmi extender. HDMI comes out of Mac into extender. Cat 6 cable runs out of extender and through wall to ceiling where projector is mounted. Other end of extender is on ceiling and HDMI cable comes out of there into a projector. Everything works great.

But now we are trying to add a second projector to cast same image on opposite wall. I've tried a few different HDMI splitters, but none work. Both projectors work if I plug HDMI cable directly into them from the extender, but when I plug the splitter into the extender it wont work.

Is there a way to make this work?

We are a church too. This is in our kid's area. I don't remember the exact brand name but it something like this.

It worked fine when the signal was just going from the Mac to the one projector, but when we add a splitter (on the receiving end of the extender) it doesn't work. It seems the Mac can detect the projector when it's plugged into one projector, but when you add the splitter it can't detect either of them
