iMac slow starting up- takes 2 minutes and quite slow operating for the first minute after starting

2019 3 Ghz 6-core i5 32 gb

I have a studio monitor attached to the iMac using Apple Thunderbolt 4 (USB‑C) Pro Cable

I get a grey screen on both monitors for about a minute during the startup. I noted the wallpaper crashing in the etre report but cannot file any associated files on the drive
