You got fooled. MacKeeper is one of the worst things you can install on a Mac. NEVER EVER install third party:

·      Antivirus Apps

·      Cleaning Apps

·      Security Apps

·      VPN Apps

·      Maintenance Apps

Why, they do exactly what users DO NOT want. They make Mac OS slow, appear buggy, create weird behavior (sound familiar) and offer NO additional layer of security or protection or maintenance over what Mac OS cannot already do on its own. In short, they're as worthless as can be. Please locate the uninstall instructions for any of the above types of apps from the developers and then uninstall. Hopefully you have not damaged Mac OS by installing MacKeeper.
