Mac Mail Column widths won't stay

Since buying my new Mac a few years ago I have begrudgingly, with Monterey 12.4, had to adjust my email coulumns every day. I decided recently to update to Sonoma 14.2.1 hoping to finally fix. NOPE By columns I mean from, date, subject, attachment . They resize everytime!! Who wants a 3 inch Attachment column showing a paperclip. I followed a previous post here with a response from Apple that did not work. Attaching my images showing Picture 1. Correct spacing, Picture 2 Incorrect spacing, Picture 3 Apple recommendation that did not work.
