iPhone 15 pro doesn’t ask for passcode after sleep

I have just purchased an iPhone 15 Pro. Unlike my previous iPhone 7 it doesn’t ask for a passcode when I reactivate it after sleep. I thought this was a security measure. Is there a way I can do this and set the duration of sleep?

Though the condition you have stated is not clear to me, however...

Your device will require your passcode when you do the following:

  • Turn on or restart your device
  • Press the Home button or swipe up to unlock your device (you can change this)
  • Update your software
  • Erase your device
  • View or change passcode settings
  • Install iOS or iPadOS Configuration profiles
  • Called Emergency.

Aware I’m no longer asked to input passcode, unsure if face id is actually taking place either.

Switch off phone each evening, restart next day, has gone days without passcode being requested.

Unsure if this may be due to Apple Support logging into my phone to assist, in fact they reset & I lost everything set up!

Update set for Automatic Updates, only taking place when asked to, (doing 17.3.1), again no passcode requested.

Any ideas?
