Can't log in to Google Account on Macbook laptop because --notification sent to your phone-- never arrives. Any advice?

Have only seen this issue fixed with 3rd party apps, but I'm stuck at work and locked out of my Google account - I can't do anything. When logging in on my Macbook I enter the password, but get --We need to verify it's you-- says a notification has been sent to my iphone. Nope. No notification. Opened up all of my Google Apps (Chrome, Calendar, Mail, Drive, etc) but to no avail. Anyone know how to get the notification on an iPhone?
