iPhone X stuck in recovery mode

Pressing volume up and then down and then on/off brings up the apple icon and then the screen immediately goes black.

This tells us that you are probably going to need more than a Mac or PC to get things going again.....since this indicates that there is likely a hardware problem with your phone.

If you have a friend with a Mac or PC, you could try to restore the phone, but if it were me I would head for an authorized Apple service shop or make an appointment at the Apple Store.
