Connect AirPods Pro to Amazon Fire TV

I used to be able to connect my AirPods Pro, 1st and 2nd editions, to Amazon Fire TV so I can use them to watch TV. No longer able to connect.

My AirPods Max generation 1 won't connect to audio devices I understand that the gen 1 airpods max can accept a audio line in signal with a lightening to stereo mini plug adapter. I can't get this to work! I bought these specifically to use on airlines to watch movies etc. Didn't work on my recent flight, and I can't get it to work with any other devices.
