Magic Mouse with Sonoma won't scroll or swipe, just about useless

Magic Mouse suddenly stopped doing anything but click. I've tried everything, from turning it off and back on, or turning Bluetooth off and back on, to resetting the SMC, to resetting the NVRAM, to rebooting with lots of different keystrokes, to waving beeds and rattles over it. Nothing works. Won't swipe, won't scroll, won't zoom, nothing but click. My old USB mouse still does it all. And the Magic Mouse did it all until I updated to Sonoma.

Have you tried from below link to Forget the mouse

The set it up again as new

Connect a Bluetooth device with your Mac

Disconnect a Bluetooth device

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Bluetooth  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Hold the pointer over the device in the list, then click Disconnect.

If you don’t want a device to reconnect automatically, Control-click its name, then click Forget. You have to connect it again if you want to use it later.
