How do I keep the police from tapping my phone?

The local police where I live have been listening to everyone’s personal phone conversations and spying on everyone in the community. I thought this behavior was considered illegal?

Privacy Concern I placed my iPad in airplane mode and proceeded to scan the same spot of the iPad with an RF signal detector, multiple times and within multiple settings. I also turned the iPad off and scanned the same spot from multiple locations. This was done to increase validity. But even in spite of this, the same part of the iPad set off my bug detector EVERY time. Does spyware exist on iPads in airplane mode?

Hello,

Depending on where you live, law enforcement normally requires a court order to your carrier to get your calls and text messages. They cannot just "tap" your phone.
