How transfer photos from android to iMac?

How do I send photos and documents from my android phone to iMac and the other way around.

I tried the Smart Switch for Mac app on the iMac, and Smart Switch for android app on my phone, but nothing worked. It just seems to transfer files from phone to another phone, or computer to another computer.

As I said bevor, all I want to do is transfer photos and documents from my Samsung phone to my iMac and the other way around. It used to be very simple not too long ago. Can somebody tell me what apps are needed today to do this?

There are so many listed on the Google Play Store. I believe you need a file transfer app on both your computer and phone. Could it actually be that no app is compatible with the Sonoma 14.2.1 (23C71) software yet?

One option would be to download/upload the photos and files to/from the Mac using an internet browser on the Mac and going to Google Photos and Google Drive

Google Drive or One Drive. Move the photos and documents on your phone and sign in your account on iMac. Those files will be synced to iMac automacatically.

The Google Drive app for Macs and for Windows has an option to backup photos from the Mac to Google Photos but it doesn't sync photos with Google Photos (e.g., if you delete on either the Mac or on Google photos, the deletion only occurs in the one location).

You're welcome.

You need to set the Android phone settings, so that it can use USB for file transfer.

Specific instructions very depending on the Phone and OS version.

hank you so much for your quick response. I downloaded and installed the Google app (your third suggested option), but did not start it yet. My question now is, will I be able to transfer photos from the Google Photos app or just the ones in my Google Drive app? And can I choose which photos I want to transfer or would it transfer all of them?

Thank you for your response. I tried it with file transfer on my Mac and it said, "can't access device storage, make sure file transfer or MPT is selected."

Do I have to get file transfer app on my device (android phone) too?

I don't think it has anything to do with the android phone settings. I used the Android Files Transfer app for years and it worked perfectly. It also can't be caused by the USB cable, I tried two different ones. I believe the problem is caused by my software update to Sonoma 14.2.1. I hope Apple will fix this soon. (I also tried Smart Switch for Mac which didn't work either.) Thank you again for your assistance.
