On the iPad 9th Generation the Touch ID is going to be the Home Button on the face of the device. It’s the only button on the face of the device, usually on the bottom, but this is dependent on how you rotate the device which could land it on the top. That being said, it’s the only button and it’s round.
To setup TouchID you are going to have to go into your settings and you’ll see an option most likely labeled TouchID and Passcode. Once you enter that area, if you have a passcode already setup you’ll need to enter that and then when you “setup TouchID” just follow the instructions and you’ll get it all setup.
