Phone died now won't do anything

My daughter's phone died a couple days ago. She charged it soon as she got home. The phone powered back on, but now the screen wont do anything. An it still registering as it out of battery. But it is fully charged an turned on. We've tried the volume up volume down then holding the side key til the phone restarts. We've done this multiple time. The phone still will not do anything. It an I phone 12. Had it for 3 months. Has anyone else experienced this problem. If so how did yiu fix it.
