Accessing Open Office with Sonoma 14.3

Hi there, I've just bought a new IMAC using OS 14.3 and discovering that I can't download Open Office onto it. Any suggestions how to avoid the huge fees that Microsoft are now charging for accessing word etc? I've tried using the new 'Pages' app, but it doesn't seem to be able to read all of my old documents that I still need access to. Thanks

There are other alternatives such as Libreoffice and Office for Mac is pretty reasonable. You can buy it for as low as $149.99 for the home and student version directly from Microsoft or $6.99 per month for Office 365. You can find it for even less if you do some shopping.
