Walking distance incorrect on Apple Watch Ultra

My Apple Watch Ultra does not calculate the distance correctly when walking on a treadmill. I swing my arms normally like I do when I walk any other time, but, the distance shown on my watch is consistently 1/2 - 3/4 mile off from what the treadmill shows. You would think it would be capable of accurately capturing these activities considering the watch costs as much as it does.
