Losing Table Formatting in Apple Mail

When pasting a table from Excel or OneNote into Apple Mail on MacBook, formatting is lost. Only text is pasted, without the data maintaining its appearance in columns.

The answer? Don't use Command-V to paste. Instead, paste into Apple Mail on MacBook by right-clicking and selecting Paste. Presto--Table formatting is preserved. I don't know why. It's a bug as far as I'm concerned.

I'm running Sonoma 14.3 on a MacBook Pro.
