Tell your congressional representative and your senators. Banks are federally regulated and the Bank Secrecy Act and several other federal regulations and laws restrict the bank on what they can say. They are just following the law. I know this isn’t what “customers” are used to experiencing.

This sounds like a cop out to many people, but much of this is covered in the “fine print” and nothing unique to Apple Cash or any financial service etc. The increase in availability makes it easier for scammers, fraud and money laundering. The bank terminated your relationship and it that’s it. Move on to another bank and read the fine print.

im aware of tricky “fine print” however, the part in all of this that is most frustrating is the big and unfortunate surprise element in all of this. When you go to your text message and you try to send a friend Apple Cash and suddenly you realize you can’t… you try to fix the issue and you can’t. You try to contact apple support and there is literally zero communication. It’s like driving on a freeway and suddenly you are forced to slam on the brakes and come to a complete stop and there’s no where to go…no new route..no detour…just nothing. I’ve been a very loyal customer to apple for two decades and I’ve always appreciated their customer support. So when something like this happens it’s a big deal, in my opinion…

In response to your comment “move on and get a new bank..” it isn’t that simple…again this is Apple Cash we are talking about. One big benefit of using an iPhone, aside from iMessage, is the convenience of being able to go to a message with anyone in your contacts and send cash right there in the message. You can’t just “get a new bank” and still utilize that feature.

so now you’ve abruptly lost access to one of apples features with zero communication, when you’ve done nothing wrong, you also realize there is no solution for this issue for whatever reason, and you’ve lost a pretty big feature on your device which you use constantly every single day.

if you are aware of how Apple Cash works then you’d realize your comment isn’t valid or even relevant. This isn’t a banking issue…Apple Cash is linked to my bank..there is no issue with my bank the issue is strictly with apple.

Apple is not a bank, never has been. Apple Cash is issued and serviced by Green Dot Bank. I’m surprised you didn’t know this since you’re “aware of tricky fine print.”

Now, please reread my comment with the understanding that your loyalty to Apple plays no part in the federal government’s regulations and laws that limit what the bank can tell you. Apple has no knowledge of your account, has no access to your account or any transaction you’ve ever made.

Your issue is with the laws of the country you live in. I get it that you feel treated unfairly, couldn’t voice an explanation and feel the system is unfair. You’re 100% entitled to your feelings. But there literally is nothing Apple can do. Apple will never see or read your comments. This is a public discussion forum for fellow Apple users to assist each other.

Now, if you want a path forward, I have some things you can do. But your ranting is not helpful.

Banks have to obey Federal banking regulations. When certain activities are suspected then the bank complies with the regulations etc. The Bank Secrecy Act actually prohibits the bank from reveling many details. Bank personnel are actually prohibited from discussing the situation with the Account owner. I’ve linked to an article below that may help explain.

Apple Pay is a service. Is it your Apple Cash account that is restricted? If so, please read below and review the support article I linked below.

>>If your Apple Cash account is restricted

Your account may be restricted if your identity verification fails multiple times, if there are multiple accounts tied to the same social security number, or if there's suspected fraud on the account. If your account is restricted, you can still transfer your Apple Cash balance to your bank or use it to make purchases with Apple Pay. You can't send or receive money, or add money to your account.

If your account is restricted and there are no instructions provided, contact Apple Support.<<

Your activity has probably passed a certain dollar threshold and now federal banking regulations have activated that require Green Dot Bank to verify you identity.
