Homekit: Accessory already added? Leviton D23LP

I was unable to reply to the original thread that shows up first when googling.. My Leviton Gen2 Dimmer Plug (D23LP) lost its network and then was unable to rejoin Apple HomeKit. I tried a million things and was able to get connected with the MyLeviton App but Apple HomeKit reported "Accessory Already Added". Sometimes it said "to another home" but sometimes simply recommended manufacturer reset.

Here is what I finally did that worked.

Make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4ghz WiFi. I had to reconfigure my router to separate 2.4 and 5Ghz on the second go around though I had successfully configured things before on a combined SID. Not sure if I just got lucky before or if this step might be unnecessary. anyhoooooo!

• Remove the device from the MyLeviton App.
  • From the device details screen tap "device settings" then "device health".
  • Tap "Delete Device From Residence"
• Reset the plug
  • With the plug device plugged in, hold down the LED status indicator for 20-30 seconds until it blinks red. It will first blink amber. Keep holding it until it's clearly red. It is now reset.
• Unplug the D23LP device.
• Write down the 8 digit code near the Apple HomeKit logo
• Plug the D23LP bak in. The status LED should blink rapidly green.
• From Apple HomeKit, "Add Accessory"
  • Tap on "More options"
  • The Leviton device should appear in the list, select it.
  • Enter the code
  • It may spin for a while but eventually, the device will connect and you can add to a room
• Add to MyLeviton (if you need to. I wanted a very slow fade on only configurable in the MyLeviton App)
  • While the D23LP is still plugged in, hold the LED status until it turns amber (about 7 seconds) and release. The LED should flash rapidly green
  • Tap the plus icon and "Add Device"
  • Follow the prompts, you'll have to reconfigure the wifi settings, but it should connect.

I hope this works for you. I tried dozens of times to get it working with no success but today I was determined since I configured another device in HomeKit and hate using multiple apps for lights.
