Nightshift not working with Sunset to Sunrise

Previous posts mention that you need to enable location services and set the timezone. In my case that was already done and it was still not working. I disabled location services and then re-enabled location services and it initiated the nightshift. This was the first time it worked for me. I'm hoping it will work from now on.

Sunset/Sunrise based automation in Home not working consistently. I set up automation to turn on and off my porch light with a time relative to sunrise and sunset. It stopped working and I found that Location Services was no longer enabled for Home. Don’t know why it got turned off but probably due to an update. The light off at 30 minutes before sunrise automation works now but the light on at 30 minutes before sunset doesn’t work. I changed it to a fixed time and I expect that will work but don’t understand why it doesn’t work with a time before sunset.

auto light/dark mode not working (sunset to sunrise) Recently i noticed that dark mode (not night shift) didn’t turn on even after 2 hours after sunset. I decided to turn off and on again the “Automatic” switch (Settings > Display & Brightness) and then dark mode finally turned on. It worked as it should previously, but for some reason it stopped working now. “automatic” options are set to “sunset to sunrise”, not “custom schedule” Updated iOS 15.3 to 15.5 All system location services, including “setting time zone” and “system customisation” are on Time zone is set to auto

Night Shift and Location Services I like the "Night Shift" display feature and its "Automatic" schedule. However, to enable it, I must also enable location services. If I enable location services, I notice the location services icon in the menu bar pops up many times a day to see where I am and probably relate this information to Apple. I do not like this as I do not fully trust Location Services. I do not use any other apps that require location services. Night Shift does not need to use location services. There is a "Custom" schedule for Night Shift in which I should be able to set my current time zone. Alternately, I can manually set my own time zone in Settings and Night Shift could use that. That way, Night Shift would never need to use Location Services unless I am traveling. What's really going on here?

More info on this. It seems that it doesn't permanently fix the issue. I have to toggle the location services off then on every evening. Not sure how to truly fix this.
