MacBook Air screenshots saving in NSIRD_screencaptureui even tho saving location is desktop

Mac OS - sonoma 14.2.1 (23C71) , device - Macbook Air M1 2020

1) I start by taking a screenshot by shortcut "command+shift+5".

2) Then i select location for saving the screenshot to desktop or other location .

3) I take the screenshot and it saves to " /private/var/folders/xc/mryd4wxn709dblfb0ydrs1p00000gn/T/TemporaryItems " even tho i just selected the other location.

4) It further saves the screenshot to NSIRD_screencaptureui_ " random Alpha numeric 6 digit " , Eg: "NSIRD_screencaptureui_lTQR8W".

5) youtube video - here

Things to note -

1) screen recording works fine, it saves to a location where i want to.

2) screen shot saves fine to every location other than desktop and other locations (i select).

Reboot through Safe Mode.

Boot normally, then update to current macOS 14.3 Sonoma.

Then if the screenshot problems persist, set your default screenshot save location to something like, say, a folder ~/Screenshots, then launch Terminal.app, and confirm the output of the following defaults read command:

$ defaults read com.apple.screencapture location
~/Screenshots
$
