picture in picture not working properly on iphone 14 pro max

Hey yall, Picture in Picture mode isn’t quite working for some reason on FaceTime. Can someone tell me how to fix this? (Yes I have toggled the auto pip and restarted my phone a couple times). For reference it has been working for a while but I updated to the latest iOS 17.3 and it’s been working weirdly ever since.

The FaceTime in the pic shouldn’t be blank.
