My LG HDR 5K monitor now looks blurry after updating to Sonoma 14.3 from Ventura. Adjusting display resolution does nothing to help (current resolution, the default, is 3440x1440). Is there any way to fix this?

I had the same problem after upgrading to Sonoma. The LG HDR 5K stopped showing 5120x2160 in the resolution list. When I unplugged the power cable to the monitor for a while and plugged it back, then suddenly the 5120x2160 resolution came back and things seem to work as previously!

I spent several hours today trying to figure out why my external 5k LG 34WK95U was so blurry. I suspected that it could be due to the latest update to os 14.4.1. My second 4k LG was fine. I saw someone mentioning UNPLUGGING in another thread, but I thought they meant unplugging from the thunderbolt port, but that didn't help.
UNPLUGGING for a few minutes from the MAINS POWER and reconnecting it again helped!!

A little late to the discussion but I just updated from Ventura 13.5 to Sonoma 14.5 and had the same issue. I found that changing the Color Profile in Displays seemed to fix it.
Updated to 14.5 solved this.
Updated to 14.4.1, my 32 inch LG 4K HDR works well with all the resolutions, actually even clearer than before.
I am connecting via HDMI btw, and it's directly into the mac.
One other thing I did was install the LG software "OnScreen Control - version 6.15" for Mac OS: https://www.lg.com/us/support/software-firmware-drivers
I am not sure it helped, as I also unplugged and restarted after installing this, but it couldn't hurt to try!
Try unplugging your monitor for a few minutes from the main power and then reconnect. Wouldn't hurt to restart your computer as well.
I’m also having the same problem after updating to Sonoma. I have a 13inch 2020 M1 MacBook Pro with Sonoma 14.2.1 and my external monitor is a 27 inch LG HDR 4k display.
The combination was working fine with the previous operating system.
Same here! We are back to the way where Apple doesn't support any normal external monitor.
I was so happy when they fixed this some releases ago so we don't have to use apps like better display etc and have an experience that doesn't look like it's from the 80's.
But guess we are back to that again.
