Help with Apps on Family Watch

I have set up a family watch. The limitations and possibilities of the Family Set up are really not clear to people considering using this for their child. As Apple users, we are used to having a great array of apps to increase the functionality of our devices - so what has happened to the family mode watch?

I see that there is a list of apple apps that usually come with the watch that can't be used on the watch. However, what is not clear is what we can download from the App Store and put onto the family watch?

For example I need a voice to text memo/notes app for my child's watch - any ideas of what I can use?

Comment - I do hope that there will be improvements in the family watch, its a massive potential market of parents with young kids, who then go onto be phone users.
