Macbook drops wifi no matter where I am using wifi

My Macbook Air drops wifi in all locations. And, it seems to be random. It drops when in sleep mode, or during active usage and it does it at home with the home wifi, at rentals with their wifi, with airports and their wifi ,hotels and their wifi, etc. I have checked that wifi is enabled and auto connect is enabled. What am ** missing here? This is a laptop that is less than 1 yr old and everything is up to date.

Rather than reach out to Norton, I would use their uninstaller to delete their software from your Mac. Today's Macs are very secure, and there really are no viruses on them.

Do not simply drag the Norton application icon to the trash, as that won't rid your Mac of everything. Use their uninstaller, or Google how to uninstall the app on your Mac.

There are several app categories that are known to sometimes create issues with Macs:

  1. Anti virus
  2. "Cleaners"
  3. "Optimizers"
  4. VPN

While I may not have experience with Macs, since I've only been using them since 1984, I've never had any form of anti virus app on any of my Macs.

Yeah; remove Norton, using their removal tool, or whatever steps they publish. Restart. See if that clears this.

What you’re describing can be add-on security tools, add-on ad-blockers, add-on VPNs, add-on Safari extensions, or other such.

Some systems will have multiple different security apps installed, or something has caused a corruption, and that gets gnarly.

Ok, I ran Diagnostics and no issues were found. I did have to run it offline because it didn't recognize that the network was connected. This is what happens. The wifi symbol shows as fully connected but the lapstop still says it is not connected or drops the connection.

Also when this happens ( frequently) nothing seems to consistently restart the wifi. I try turning wifi on and off, restating computer or shutting down computer. It seems to randomly connect without regard to what method i use to try and reconnect.

And. yes I have Norton 360 but it never use to cause an issue? It's not something I recently added to this laptop.

Should I reach out to Norton and see if they have had issues due to a recent upgrade?
