Apple Wallet non functional in India?

Question

Dear Apple,

Is Apple Wallet functional in India? I believe it has been intentionally disabled due to data-localization requirement from Indian Govt.

I have Samsung wallet on my Samsung phone and works flawlessly. Can’t just fully switch to Apple ecosystem if users are deprived of features.

Currently, Indian government/banking regulations and banks do not support Apple Pay. Please review the Apple support article I linked below.

Are you in a country or region that supports Apple Pay?

Does your financial institution support Apple Pay?
