Apple TV image problems with 120HZ tv

It is most visible in the subtitles of a movie. Its like the text is glitching, flikkering or I don't know how I should describe it.

No, a 120 Hz refresh rate TV will accept video signals from HDMI devices at (select) lower refresh rates as well. Possibly your TV manual will have a section with supported common rates (e.g. 60 Hz, 50 Hz, 30/29.97, 25, 24/23.976).

Is this for Netflix? For more than one show? Does the issue happen for other apps/​content providers as well?

I recently canceled Netflix for a while, so I can’t check how the exact same clip behaves on my end.

It’s weird looking. I haven’t seen that before. At times, almost like several copies on top of each other, but not aligned properly, nor timed the same.

Your clip’s POV moves too much for me to determine if the same also happens with the rest of the visuals, but I assume it does. I guess it is best visible in high contrast areas.

Try resetting the video settings, from Settings﹥Video and Audio﹥Reset Video Settings, to have Apple TV make a best guess (or starting point) at optimal video settings for the currently connected TV.
