I am unable to get my speakers/sound on my Apple display M1. Aren't they built into the display?

I have no sound on my apple display. Went through settings selected built speakers in the display panel.

No luck.

<Mac Mini M1 No sound on HDMi Mac Mini M1 running ventura 13.5.2. I have 2 monitors connected. One through HDMi on the device iteself and a second through an expansion unit. No matter what I do I cannot get sound through the monitors. Only through built in speakers. When I go to sound settings it shows the monitors connected via HDMi but the output volme is "greyed out" I have another mac mini the same and I do not even get the option to play sound through HDMi No solution seems to be available?

MacBook Pro and LED Cinema Display audio I have a 24" LED Cinema Display plugged in to my 2018 MacBook Pro (using a USB Type C (Source Port) to Female Mini DP DisplayPort Adapter) The video output is fine, but there is no audio output from the speakers at the base of the display. In the Sound settings on my MacBook Pro there is no option to select the LED Cinema Display speakers for audio output. Any idea how to get audio from my MacBook Pro to my LED Cinema Display? Thanks folks :)

Sonoma - Studio Displays Not Properly Recognized So since upgrading to Sonoma, using a dock or plugging Studio Displays directly in, there's an annoying bug where it shows that you're connected to both Studio DIsplays, but you cannot adjust brightness or true tone. True tone icon is just gone, and brightness sliders are grayed out. The only way to fix it seems to be if you unplug the TB4 cable from the back of the display and plug it back in. On a dual studio display setup, you only typically have to unplug one of them. Unplugging from the laptop or the dock doesn't do it, has to be monitor side. What's even weirder is that I have an MX Master 3S paired as well to my setups...i typically keep it powered off because i use the magic trackpad. I've found that when i pickup the mouse and power it on, THE DISPLAYS FIX THEMSELVES! what kind of bug is this!? the displays have nothing to do with bluetooth, but activating a bluetooth device fixes the displays to where you can set brightness and true tone again! what?!?!?!

The Apple display has great speakers. In the sound preference pane be sure you select OUTPUT and pick Studio Display Speakers.
