how do i read the imessages in my icloud
my husband deleted some important texts over 2 months ago. I have iCloud message backup on. I see there are texts in there. How do I retrieve them so
i can read them?

If you are using iCloud Syncing for Messages, when you delete a message on one device, the message is deleted everywhere, including iCloud. The messages are not part of your backup.
If you are not using iCloud Syncing, the messages are part of your backup. The only way to get them back is to restore your phone from that backup.

There is no way to veiw iMessages through icloud.com.
