17.3 Fails to Trigger ALL Alarms that are at the same Time

After the 17.3 update, it seems that multiple Alarms set to the same time do NOT all trigger. Only one of them will trigger and the others do not.

The situation is that I often have multiple alarms that trigger at the same time of day. In the past (pre 17.3) I used to see each one fire successively. That is to say that I first had to snooze/stop one alarm, then I'd have to snooze/stop the second alarm, then the third alarm, etc. And that made sense and I came to rely on it.

Now, with 17.3, only ONE alarm will trigger. After snoozing/stopping that first alarm, I do NOT get the other alarms. They have effectively been "quit" silently w/o my input.

My workaround has been to set alarms at non-identical times, but that is a pain... I must add an alarm at my preferred time, then inspect the list to see if it collides with another, and then adjust one of them.

There have been reports for years that alarms that overlap with a previous alarm will not fire. It most often seems to happen when the second alarm is set to fire while the first alarm is snoozing.

My suspicion is that most people do not see multiple alarms for the same time and that whatever changes Apple made in 17.3 didn't take this edge case into consideration. You can certainly let Apple know your thoughts here:

But, honestly, I wouldn't expect much.

You might want to take a look at some third-party alarm apps. Alarmed by Yoctoville was one of my favorites for years, though it's a bit long in the tooth now. There are also lots of others.

It is interesting that others have had similar issues in the past... I believe simultaneous alarms have always worked for me for all my years with iPhone. The issue you mention of alarms not firing while another is snoozing has never been a problem for me. That works just fine for me, multiple times a day. Just the identically timed alarms have started causing me problems the last couple of weeks.

It doesn't seem to be a consistent problem. Or even one that most people seem to have. Of course, it's possible that not very many people set up alarms that will overlap if snooze is used, either. Personally, I don't recall ever having a problem with the Alarm app, but there are enough posts about it to make it a noticeable issue.

One thing you might try, which sometimes works for people, is to delete all your alarms, force quit the Clock app, and then set up the alarms again. It may not work for you, but it most likely won't take that long to try.

Thank you IdrisSeabright. I'll go provide that Apple feedback and also look into alternate alarm apps.

Again, thanks for your help on this.
