Freeing up space on older ipad

My older ipad does not need the same things as my iPhone. How can I take off apps and not take off my phone.

iPad 2, iOS 9

Hello ,

I have a few ideas that you may find useful :

✳️ This is my old iPad (5th generation) v 16.7.5

If you have iCloud Backup turned on and don't need it , then turn it off .

If you're okay without any more software updates : general > software updates > auto updates > off .

Empty Mail Trash & delete docs you're not using in the Files App .

⭐️ I feel that this is the best place to start :

Settings > general > iPad Storage … you can remove apps from that iPad only , or offload them & tap the cloud with the arrow to have them reappear .
