thank you 🙏 when he opens his iphone camera to retrieve photos or take photos , there's a pop up message " must use itunes card to use camera " 😂🤔🙏

The message is a scam presented by some app installed on the phone.

Absolutely. Some third-party camera apps might be "free to download" and require in-app purchases to actually use, but whatever message that popped up would be about confirming an in-app purchase.

If the app is popping up demands for iTunes gift cards, it should be deleted – not just from one's phone, but from the App Store!

Are you saying that your friend received a phone call, e-mail, text message, Web notification, etc. that demanded payment for something in the form of iTunes gift cards?

SCAM ALERT!

U.S. Federal Trade Commission – Avoiding and Reporting Gift Card Scams

"Only scammers will tell you to buy a gift card, like a Google Play or Apple Card, and give them the numbers off the back of the card. No matter what they say, that’s a scam. No real business or government agency will ever tell you to buy a gift card to pay them."

I wonder if your friend is being targeted by a scam that is a tech support scam, as well as a gift card one.

A tech support scam is where scammers tell you that there is something wrong with your computer or phone (such as being infected with a million viruses), then offer to "help" you fix the "problem." Only the problem is a lie and the "tech support" people are actually criminals who are out to scam you.

Usually those scammers try to get your credit card or bank account information, but I guess that creative scammers might cross the tech support scam with the gift card payment scam.
