Importing photos from iPhone to Mac (crashing and not showing up in sidebar)

I had this issue but I found the fix. It was quite specific so I wanted to share it in case anyone else had this issue too. I tried multiple things but this is the only one that worked.

You can try to resolve iPhone won't transfer photos to Mac issue by resetting your iPhone's Location & Privacy settings. Go to Settings > Choose General > Reset/Transfer or Reset iPhone > Tap Reset Location & Privacy. After that, connect your iPhone to MacBook and try to import photos again.
