Deleting and importing music via itunes

I had imported music to my itunes to install on my iphone 14 using the itunes app on windows 11. This was a few months ago. I have since resetted my phone and deleted the music on the phone with it. The issue is that on my itunes app on my computer, I can't delete the song that's in my phone's music (Like I go to devices -> Iphone 14 -> Music and there's my old music, but it's not on my phone anymore). I want to delete the music that's there and import new mp3 files to install on my phone but it won't let me delete them. How can I fix this?

Windows, Windows 10

If you are deleting these songs on your phone (without using iTunes), I suggest that you don't do that.

Instead, change the selection of items to be copied to your phone in iTunes and let the Sync do the work of removing them from the phone:

    • connect the phone to iTunes and look on the Device/Settings/Summary pane
    • under the Options section, make sure that the Sync only ticked songs and videos box is ticked (checked)
    • now all you need to do is untick (uncheck) a song in your main iTunes Library and at the next Sync, it will be removed from the phone, but left in your library

To add the song back to your device, put the tick back in the box and Sync.
